ENGINE

Breathing life into the H3x is the Vortec 3700 5-cylinder engine that generates an impressive 242 lb-ft of low-end torque at 4600 rpm and strikes a perfect balance between performance and fuel efficiency*. TRANSMISSION

The StabiliTrak Stability Enhancement System, standard on the H3^x, provides more precise, all-weather control by applying braking forces to help correct oversteer or understeer. This is particularly useful on slick surfaces or during emergency maneuvers, such as swerving to avoid an object in the road.

TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM (TCS)

In a well-built machine, power and control go hand in hand. The H3^x is no exception. To control all the power rippling beneath the metal skin of the H3^x, the state-of-the-art traction control system (TCS) is an indispensable asset you have at your disposal.

When off-roading or simply on slippery road surfaces, TCS continually monitors the rotational speed of each wheel. If one wheel is spinning more than the others, TCS applies braking pressure to the spinning wheel to help it regain its composure and transfers available torque to the wheels that have traction. Using this system, an H3^x with three spinning wheels can still move forward, even up a 10% incline.

BRAKES

4-CHANNEL ANTI-LOCK BRAKING
The 4-channel Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), standard on the H3^x, allows you steering control even under extreme braking, without tire "lock-up." The ABS in the H3^x also adjusts to changing roads, helping you come to a smooth, controlled stop on almost any surface. For example, after heavy rains a washboard type pattern can develop on dirt roads. The H3^x’s ABS is able to recognize this surface and react by preventing the ABS from continually repeating a cycle of applying and depressurizing the brakes.

DYNAMIC REAR PROPOTIONING
Another integral part of this intelligent braking system is Dynamic Rear Brake Proportioning. This system modulates rear brake pressure and ensures that braking is balanced between both front and rear brakes. In English, that means the nose of the H3^x won’t dive down while braking hard. And in any language, that means your passengers might not even notice what just happened.

And as is the case with all HUMMERS, there’s more.

STABILITRAK STABILITY ENHANCEMENT SYSTEM
The StabiliTrak Stability Enhancement System, standard on the H3^x, provides more precise, all-weather control by applying braking forces to help correct oversteer or understeer. FRONT SUSPENSION

The H3^x features a Short/Long Arm (SLA) independent front suspension and a Hotchkiss design, dual-stage, leaf-spring rear suspension. The front suspension uses an aluminum-forged upper control arm and a cast modular iron lower control arm, providing robustness and strength when off-roading.

Both the front and rear suspension systems feature microcellular urethane jounce bumpers, which act like secondary springs. This not only increases the H3^x’s load carrying capability but, more importantly, prevents the suspension from hitting the frame on severe terrain.

Both the front and rear systems also use 46 mm, monotube, gas-charged shocks, same as in the H2, that come with hydraulic rebound cutoffs specifically designed for the H3^x. These cutoffs act like secondary absorbers and help smooth shock travel as it reaches its full length. In addition, the front shock absorbers also have an internal, microcellular auxiliary spring that further enhances the vehicle’s ride. (Microcellular urethane provides better impact absorption and longer life than rubber.) Lastly, the suspension system uses a 36 mm, tubular, front stabilizer bar and a 25 mm, solid, rear stabilizer bar that remarkably improve cornering by suppressing body roll.

FRAME

A 3-piece, modular, fully welded, ladder-type frame lays a formidable foundation for the chassis of the H3^x. The frame includes high-strength steel side rails and crossmembers for extra muscle, durability, enhanced off-road capability and on-road comfort. The frame’s width builds stability into the H3^x right from the start.

ON THE INSIDE

The H3^x features plush bucket seating in standard leather appointed that comfortably houses 5 adults. The front seat headrests are embroidered with the premium "H3" logo as a finishing touch to double-stitched "French" seams throughout the rest of the interior. Both the driver and passenger can enjoy eight-way power adjustable seats.

The front and back row seats all come with dual density foam and soft bolsters to provide additional comfort and help support during severe off-road maneuvers. In addition, the back row seats have a 60/40 split that can be folded down to create 56.4 cubic feet of cargo space.*

The leather-appointed seating comes in Ebony with Pewter piping, Light Cashmere with Ebony piping or Ebony with Morocco-toned seat inserts and piping.
